HTC as a brand have established great success over the pat couple of years with superb handsets such as the Desire, Smart and Legend.
The new HD7 model looks to further establish the brand as the top smart phone manufacturer thanks to great specification and the excellent new Windows 7 operating system. As far as the smartphone market goes, Windows 7 signals a new era, as super brand Microsoft attempt to wrestle some market share from the likes of Apple and Android. And they are well placed to do so, with many consumers already familiar with Windows on home pcs or laptops in one form or another. Not only is the new OS incredibly functional, it looks great, a vital aspect in a time where looks prove just as important as specification on many mobiles. The homescreen comprises of a series of tiles that relate to various areas of the phone. These tile, or Hubs as they are also known fall into six categories which are People, Gaming, Music, Video, Office and Marketplace.
Thanks to good connectivity and the size of these hubs on the display, they are able to display constantly changing information. The people hub shows changing photographs of your contacts, as well as integrating with your Facebook account to notify you of status updates. Although this system does not offer the level of customisability that is found on Android devices, there is still enough scope for change to please most users, with your favourite links, apps and contact details able to be pinned directly to the homescreen. The OS is impressive, and the layout makes competitors icon based systems look dated.
The HTC HD7 moves along at a very fast pace thanks to a high quality 1Ghz processor driving everything along.
The Internet 6 web browser loads pages in super fast time, regardless whether you are using 3G or WiFi connections. The displays support of multi touch means the excellent pinch and zoom is facilitated, and this works instantly, and when the phone is flipped into landscape mode, the on board accelerometer kicks in instantly to display glorious widescreen. In a bid to appeal to the mass teenage/twenties market, the phone supports XBox Live and Zune music. XBox users can sign into their own accounts and a series of games will be available, making the handset a portable games machine in addition to a phone. Zune music is an excellent alternative to iTunes, offering affordable tracks which sound great with the on board Dolby Mobile sound enhancement. The HTC HD7 looks well placed to take the market by storm. Business and pleasure users alike will be pleased with the variety of features on offer, whilst the look, despite being large, remains modern and stylish.
The HTC HD7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab are available now.

HTC have added another model to their ever growing range of mobile phones. This new addition has a lot to live up to however as it is the replacement to the best selling Desire. So can the HTC Desire S surpass the dizzy heights reached by its predecessor.
As a tool for accessing the web, the HTC Desire S is one of the best handsets money can buy. Whether its for e mailing, online shopping or just general browsing, the comprehensive range of connectivity options on offer ensure that location should not affect your online experience. Thanks to its in built Wireless LAN facilities, the phone can connect to applicable WiFI networks, offering the user the quickest online service possible. All three recognised speeds of WiFi are supported, including the latest super fast “N” version. Much of the time you may find yourself needing to access the internet whilst travelling, thus the support of the 3G network is pleasing, and even if you are out of range of this fast mobile connection, the phone also sports EDGE and GPRS as great alternatives.
As far as operating systems go, the Desire S sports the very best in the form of Android 2.3. Not only does Android offer a massive selection of downloads with regards to games and applications, but this latest version offers some marked improvements with the text input system, making it not only more intuitive but more responsive, and it also offers power saving in certain areas that help prolong the battery life. If you are looking for a phone that operates at great speed, then the Desire S is great thanks to a fast 1Ghz processor together with an impressive 768MB of RAM.
One area where the HTC Desire S impresses is in the style department, where the decision to cast the phones body from a single piece of aluminium has not only enhanced its looks, but made the phone feel well constructed and durable when you actually use it, despite weighing a fairly light 130 grammes.
With the large screen dominating the fascia and the lack of an optical trackpad, the phone certainly looks sleek, and despite not quite matching the jaw dropping looks of the HTC Incredible S, this phone still manages to be one of the most “desirable” available. The phone also keeps up with its rivals who are offering high definition video capture by enabling this model to shoot 720P footage. Although the 1GB of internal storage is not adequate enough for such recording, the micro SD card slot does enable expansion up to 32GB.
The HTC Desire S has fulfilled its brief by eclipsing the still excellent Desire model, and will certainly rival the likes of the iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S2 for sales over the coming year.
The HTC Desire S and the LG Optimus 3D are coming soon.

HTC have taken a step back from competing right at the top end of the smartphone table, this time focusing their efforts on a mid ranged, compact phone in the shape of the new Gratia. This model strikes a perfect balance of style, size and functionality, and should prove a hit with those looking for a feature packed phone but not overly big in the size stakes. The HTC Gratia sports a high quality screen, despite on paper it looking lower specification that the likes of the HTC HD7. The main reason for this slight drop is that the Gratia does not need it. With just a 3.2″ screen, anything higher than the HVGA 320 x 480 that the phone offers would seem a waste. In doing this not only does it keep the size of the phone compact, but also keeps the cost well within that mid range bracket. The display can offer up to 256k colours, so you can be assured of vivid and colourful images and graphics. Auto rotation is enabled thanks to an accelerometer chip, whilst a proximity sensor not only locks the screen, but allows you to use the clever flip to mute feature. Looking around the phone and you will find a selection of useful ports and buttons. A micro USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack both feature, the latter being especially useful if you wish to add your own headphones to the phone for music playback. The four familiar Android buttons are situated beneath the screen, which is where you will also find HTC’s excellent optical trackpad. Although you will use the touchscreen for most navigation, the very responsive trackpad is great when you require a little precision, for example when editing text.
Like previous models within the range, the HTC Gratia utilises the brands excellent Sense user interface to offer vibrant and intuitive user controls, alongside the excellent 2.2 Android OS that the phone runs. Rather than ploughing through multiple home screens to find what you desire, the excellent leap view gives you a neat overview of all screen available to you, allowing you to simply select the one you need. Social Networking fans will love the interface, it offers great synchronisation with the phones contact list. When looking up a friend, alongside their regular details you can now read their Twitter and Facebook updates as well as view their photos. Excellent features like this thankfully don’t place to much strain on the 1200mAh battery, with users typically expecting nearly 6 hours of talktime and 400 hours in standby.
The Gratia from HTC takes the familiar Android experience and takes it in a different direction from models such as the Desire HD. Rather than focusing on size, they have packed everything into a smaller and more desirable chassis, which will keep fans of fashion phones as well as smartphone lovers satisfied.
The HTC Gratia and the Nokia C7 are available now.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has proven to be the most popular smartphone to date for the prolific Korean manufacturer. Every aspect of its spec list impresses, but one area that really stands out is its screen. In this article I will take a closer look at this feature and the benefits it brings to its millions of users.
The screen on the Samsung Galaxy S2 measures up at 4.3 inches, so it is the perfect size for easy operation. Its size also means that it is big enough to enjoy photos and videos, but remains compact enough to comfortably fit into most pockets and handbags. The resolution of the screen stands at 480x 800. This figure indicates the number of pixels found within the screen, and the higher this number is, the better the display quality. There are phones with a higher resolution such as the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but to the naked eye it is unlikely that most users will be able to notice the difference. The screen itself utilises super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen technology. This is somewhat different to the likes of the LCD screens found on phones like the iPhone 4S or HTC Sensation. AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screens are renowned for their brightness and clarity as well as their colour saturation (the Samsung Galaxy S2 can display up to 16 million individual colours), meaning not only are the contents of the screen always bright and clear, but it also remains visible even when outdoors in direct sunlight. This is an area where most other screen types struggle. The display quality offered by the screen means that the Galaxy S2 lends itself to everything from multimedia use like viewing photos and videos and playing games, to everyday tasks like writing SMS messages and browsing the internet. Another well documented benefit of AMOLED screens is the fact that they use less battery power than most other types of touchscreen. Although smartphones are capable of some amazing things these days, a common problem is that they require a considerable amount of battery power. Although this is not perfect on the Galaxy S2, it is generally considered to outdo the majority of the competition in this department.
As you can see, the screen on the Samsung Galaxy S2 is impressive, but there is a lot more to like about this phone. It has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, which means that several aspects of the hardware and software benefit from enhanced performance. It also has the latest version of the popular Android platform, which allows users to download apps from the Android Market in the same fashion as the famous AppStore by Apple. Also, there is an 8 megapixel camera included, and this is capable of taking high resolution still images as well as video footage in full HD (1080p).
The Samsung Galaxy S2 was recently announced as the company’s bestselling smartphone. With features like this, it is no surprise that it has become a popular choice. If you are looking for a new smartphone and you are not won over by the numerous HTC and Apple offerings, I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy S2.

It seems that every day there are new rumours surfacing regarding the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Although not yet officially announced, the handset is already surrounded by masses on hype, with numerous websites claiming to be in possession of leaked photos and spec sheets.
Samsung’s upcoming headliner will be tasked with filling the shoes of the highly popular Galaxy S2, which was one of the most popular smartphones of 2011. Below I will round up some of the recent rumours about the Galaxy S3.
ProcessorMany suspected that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would sport a quad core processor. Logic would dictate that this is the case, as the new HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD boast this feature and both were recently released. Also, Samsung will have the iPhone 5 to compete with, so you would expect them not to take any chances of being outdone by Apple in the processor department upon its suspected summer release. It has recently been confirmed by a Samsung executive that the phone will indeed feature a quad-core processor, so users will benefit from outstanding performance levels from both the hardware and software alike. Interestingly, the processor is rumoured to be manufactured by Exynos rather than Qualcomm, who produced the processors in the Galaxy S and Galaxy S2.
ScreenAlthough questionable in their authenticity, there are several leaked photos of the Galaxy S3, claiming various sources both in and out of Samsung. However, many of these share common feature; an edge to edge screen. This means that the screen extends to the very edge on each side of the phone. This would suggest that the screen is likely to have larger dimensions than that of the Samsung Galaxy S2, and more than likely this will mean that a much higher resolution display will also be included. The smartphone world is still awaiting the arrival of the first full HD screen, so maybe the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be the first.
Operating SystemAlthough features like the screen and processor are questionable at this stage until officially announced, one this is for sure; the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be running the latest version of Android, called Ice Cream Sandwich. This was showcased on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, with its impressive features such as face unlock and Google Beam. Updates are rolling out to compatible handsets in coming weeks, while many of the new Android phones released at Barcelona’s MWC event earlier this month also included the new software. Samsung’s biggest rival, Apple, are more than likely to release a new version of iOS alongside the iPhone 5 as has been the case with previous releases of the popular iPhone series.
Until the Samsung Galaxy S3 is officially unveiled, we will not know for sure what the handset’s exact specifications will be, but with the amount of attention it is already receiving, its popularity looks assured, and will be one of the biggest tech releases of 2012.

HTC have been busy producing a range of mobile handsets to coincide with the introduction of the launch of the Windows 7 operating system. Of these models, the 7 Mozart is perhaps the most desirable, thanks to gorgeous looks and a high specification camera facility.
In order for any modern smartphone to perform well, it is essential that a good processor is on board. The HTC 7 Mozart features a 1Ghz Snapdragon chip set that has plenty of capacity so that even the most demanding user does not experience any issues with regards to speed. The unit also feature 512MB of RAM memory and 8GB of internal storage capacity. As earlier mentioned, the operating system is Windows 7 and this brings a refreshing look to the whole interface. The all to familiar Android and Apple homescreens look dated besides this newcomer. The main screen comprises of a series of tiles which are visibly much larger than the icons we are familiar with. The advantage of this extra size is that a host of information can be displayed. For example, you people tile which is linked to your contact list is constantly showing pictures of your friends. Not only is this cosmetically very appealing, but it also serves a purpose in that some of the information displayed can actually save you accessing an area of your phone in order to retrieve it ie forthcoming appointments. Connectivity wise the Mozart covers all bases, thus if you are on the move the handset can connect to the 3G network, and even when such coverage is not available, there are suitable replacements in the form of GPRS and EDGE. WiFI does offer you the best all round experience but is dependant on you having access to an applicable network.
The HTC 7 Mozart is one of the best looking handsets that you are likely to encounter. The unibody chassis is largely comprised of aluminium which not only looks great, but also adds a real durability factor to this model. It is touches other than this that set this model apart from its competitors however. The asymmetrical design of the back panel see a triangular segment that is metallic, with two smaller rubber sections to make using the phone more comfortable. Not only does this work well, but it is also very eye catching. The phone features a 3.7″ LCD which is amongst the very best available. Thanks to the 480 x 800 resolution, graphics are crystal clear, as is your own Media captured with unit. This can take the form of photograph or video footage. Video wise the handset is capable of recording high definition at a resolution of 720P. With regards to still shots, the 8 mega pixel camera is the best of all the current windows 7 handsets, and it produce pictures full of colour and detail.
If you are looking for a Windows 7 handset, then the HTC 7 Mozart really should be at the top of your list as a superb all round mobile handset.
